StandDown - Art SloaneFor years radio talk show host Dee Suomala has been voicing strong support for our men and women serving in the military—and for our veterans. These selfless individuals have kept us safe and allowed us the freedoms we enjoy today in this great country.

Dee is honored to welcome veteran and Arizona Republic columnist Art Sloane to The Nonprofit Journal radio show.

Art writes a column called Veteran’s Voice—where he provides resources for veterans and their families, including benefits information, fundraisers, upcoming events and much more. He is also active in helping homeless veterans through the organization Arizona StandDown.

The Arizona StandDown is the state’s largest, outreach event for homeless veterans and relies upon contributions from the public to support over thousands of veterans to gain access to shelter, services, and healthcare.

Art served in the U.S. Air Force, Air Force Reserves and Air National Guard for 14 years and served 26 years in the Coast Guard Reserves. He is also a retired Master Chief Storekeeper.
